Nevada's Secret Slot Canyon Will Blow Your Mind: Cathedral Gorge, NV

Cathedral Gorge is wildly underrated. Picture this: skinny, towering white slot canyons that feel like you've stepped into another planet... or maybe straight into a Tim Burton movie. The walls are jagged, alien-like, and the way the light dances through the narrow paths? Otherworldly.

Cathedral Gorge State Park, Nevada, tucked away off US-93 near the small town of Panaca. Remote? Yes. Worth it? 1000%.
The beautiful thing is that it is DOG FRIENDLY! Scout and Nora had the time of their lives sniffing their way through the labyrinth of canyons. If you're looking for a place where you AND your pups can explore freely, this is it.

Why You'll Love It:
- The canyon walls are chalky white with dramatic spires that look like they belong in a vampire fairytale.
- The slot canyons are narrow and tall - walking through them feels like you're inside a giant sculpture.
- So few people know about this gem, it's still peaceful and quiet.
- It only takes half to one day to fully explore the park.

Tips Before You Go:
- Bring water, it gets hot and there's little shade outside the canyons.
- Wear shoes with grip, the terrain is dry and loose in spots.
- Best lighting is early morning or late afternoon for magical golden glow in the canyons.
Don't skip the Juniper Draw Loop- easy, short, and gives a stunning views from the canyon floor. It begins from near the Cathedral Caves parking area and traverses through a maze of clay spires, narrow slot canyons and expansive washes.
